May 13th 11:49:08 PM I'm very pleased and moved by this experience. I feel that its one of, if not the, highest points in my life. It's too soon to think about my memoirs, but one day, I'm sure that this amazing story, this drama, this tragedy, this 60 seconds, will be the turning point of the whole enchilada. http://www.mostexclusivewebsite.com "Blessed are the cracked, for they shall let in the light."
Groucho Marx, comedian and film and television star (1890-1977) I unfriended a friend today. It felt great. He's a cool guy I was always happy to run into and we used to play softball together. But, he would comment on my posts and rip on Bernie Sanders. Now, I don't care who you vote for, and you don't have to care about my guy. BUT - if you're gonna comment on my post in a negative manner, be prepared to back up your statements. And by the way, don't even post negative bs about Bernie, the President, Hillary - or anything, really - on your own facebook unless you can source your "facts". I'm tired of shit spreading and the truth blurring.
So, goodbye D, you're blocked. And that feels great. So here’s how it went. As a kid I liked Fat Albert and bought Bill Cosby albums. (who knew?) If I could talk mom and dad into it, I’d stay up for Carson’s monologue. And that was it, no other comedy until cable.
In my teens, I’d stay up for all of the Tonight Show and see who was on. Joan Rivers, David Brenner, David Steinberg, Richard Belzer, Robert Klein, Phyllis Diller, Steven Wright, Elaine Boosler, and so many more. When cable came out we didn’t get it. But other friends did. I remember a party, I’m 16 or 17, and someone has a little black and white TV on top of their fridge. While my friends were trying to get laid, I’m watching Evening at the Improv and asking people to turn down the music so I could hear Bud Friedman introduce the next comic. In my 20s I occasionally went to a comedy show but it never seemed like something real people might do. Comics were on TV, or up on stage. It never occurred to me that I could do that. In my 30s I’d think, if only… In my 40s I would try and write some bit, but never think how, or where? Finally at 50, I did it, small showcases, then open mics and bar shows. I always remembered that brick wall from the Improv, and in my first comedy class I got to stand in front of it. I could have tried to do a show their sooner, but waited, not sure why. I’m 54 and this week I performed in on that stage for a real audience, with the brick wall and the Improv logo behind me. Keep dreaming. Set some goals. More to come. 2014

Walt Disney, businessman, cartoonist, filmmaker, and voice actor 1901-1966, frozen head 1966 - Amy Poehler. Parks and Rec got better every episode and her character more lovable. Somehow she and the writers turned Leslie Knope from an annoying do-gooder into a cool government nerd. Anything that might not have worked in the first few epps got turned around pretty fast without any dead end tangents.
Why write about this actor and her show? Because It Made Me Happy. And Amy did so much great funny work before getting her sitcom. She was good on the SNL sketches and GREAT when teamed up with Tina Fey on Weekend Update. And check these to see how great Amy is when not on a big deal show: https://www.youtube.com/user/smartgirls http://www.ted.com/talks/mac_barnett_why_a_good_book_is_a_secret_door?utm_source=newsletter_weekly_2014-09-20&utm_campaign=newsletter_weekly&utm_medium=email&utm_content=talk_of_the_week_image#t-1055291
You can’t please any of the people all of the time. And some people, none of the time.

Re: Privileges Tiny lizard and cockroaches – thank you for confining most of your activities to the bathroom areas. Should you be found in any carpeted room, be advised that the vacuum has been plugged in for many hours and is fully charged. Some of your friends and family have already been sucked to their death. If you wish to avoid joining them in whatever hell awaits, stay away. As you know, said vacuum is less effective in tiled areas of my home. This may have given you a false sense of security. I’ve fortified defenses with many objects suitable for throwing at, and squashing you. These wounds are almost always fatal, and if you survive, I promise that you will wish you hadn’t. In reserve there are some chemical weapons that I’d rather not unleash upon the environment. I believe we should live and let live. Some of you will be here long after my people are radioactive dust. I suggest you enjoy that comforting truth, but in the meantime seek your happiness outdoors. Should you choose to surprise me, you may hear a high pitched girlish scream. Recognize that as my battle cry and prepare to suffer my wrath. Regards, The Human |
